That said, being in such all consuming fields of industry, managing their careers, their families and a host of other things demanding their attention, they realized that although they had invested during the span of their careers, they had never really taken the to empower themselves with the hands-on knowledge of researching their stocks, bonds and mutual funds.

This task had always been in the care of professionals.

So as a result, many had never really reviewed their quartely statements and did not know their rate of return (ROR) on the investments they had been making.
