Description: Visit Puig's Refuge for a masterclass with respected Grammy Award-winning engineer and producer Jack Joseph Puig! In this hour-long video series, JJP discusses the importance of analog equipment in giving sound specific characteristics. He shows us his amazing collection of equipment and prefers to focus on a select few items to convey his ideas.

During the Pro Tools session, JJP feeds stereo drum tracks to his rare ADR F769 Vocal Stresser and the wonderful Fairchild 670 tube compressor. He encourages critical listening with and without inserts and details how and why the equipment affects the signal in some way. He also compares the results of summing his stems in digital form with analog ones, using your own summing mixer. In addition, he distinguishes between the sound of his Neve, API and non-standard tube stereo bus transformers.
