Strong relationships with teachers and school staff can dramatically enhance students' level of motivation and therefore promote learning. Students who have access to more strong relationships are more academically engaged, have stronger social skills, and experience more positive behavior. Building strong relationships with students can help them develop academically and socially, according to the American Psychological Association. Learn strategies to build relationships, connect and motivate your students to become successful academically, socially, emotionally.Outcomes/ Benefits:Participants will be able to discover the benefits of taking the time to connect, build a relationship and motivate students to perform in the classroom. They will be able to implement strategies from the session immediately in their classroom.Participants will learn what it means to build a healthy relationship with children/students. They will also learn what it looks like to connect with your students and what it does not look like to connect with your students. We will discuss harmful statements and provide helpful replacement language for teachers to use when redirecting or teaching their students. We will also discuss what children need to know in order to connect with their teacher. Learn to have fun with the kids - fun does not mean out of control chaos.Motivate students to grow, learn and dream about their lives. Show the students examples of other leaders in the field they are interested in. Inspire the children with stories and listen to their dreams. In closing tie it all together with a discussion about how the three connect; connecting, motivating and building relationshipsReferences to the book, Raising the Well-Adjusted Child: A Parent's Manual will be made for the participants.
