Do you know the fairytale "The Scarlet Flower" (the prototype of the story Beauty and the Beast)? When I was a little girl it was my favourite cartoon. It was an old Soviet Union hand-drawn cartoon of 1952.
The idea of this class was my painting in the traditional Russian folk art style "Khokhlomá", which I called "Scarlet flower" and by classification of Khokhlomá painting it is a Tulip.
In the class we are going to paint the "Tulip" and the "Peony" flowers in Russian folk style step-by-step together. We will start from basis exercises, simple elements, through learning the rules of composition to the Final Project. Everyone will succeed! You can't fail.

Thanks to Mikhail Baryshnikov's project "Stories of my Childhood", the best cartoons of the USSR have been translated into English (and many other languages).
